Source: Independent

COVID-19 first case was appeared from the Central Hubie province and specifically the WUHAN WET MARKET of China in December 2019. The WET markets sell fresh food, seafood, wild animals, etc. The WET markets are those markets specifically that sell wild animals and live wild animals, or the slaughtering of animals is done in a loose area. In various countries, these WET markets are banned and selling of Wild animal species is illegal still in various countries like India, China, Parts of Africa, North America these WET markets run smoothly and these markets are the livelihood for large number of population in those areas as well as a source of staple food for local communities.

Origin of COVID-19

According to WHO, SARS-CoV-2 is originated from wild animal species be it bat or some other animal, it is not evident till now. This virus soared from animals to human beings and transmitted all over the world.

There are several controversial stories about its sources which are turned out to be false and the original source is still not found. The SARS-Cov-2 is not originated from bats as there is no direct contact between humans and bats in general cases, So it is considered that it is originated from some animal species which are closely linked with humans, either we consume it or live in a close proximity with it.

Another controversy which is a breakthrough from America is that China has created the COVID-19 virus and transmitted into humans which is turned out to be false as researchers have suggested that the SARS-Cov-2 is not a laboratory constructed virus or manipulated virus, it resembles with SARS-Cov-1 species of virus and is originated from some animals sold in those WET markets.

COVID-19: Are we still Woke About the Future Consequences

So, now we all are familiar with the source of Noble Corona Virus, but there are few questions

·       WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE THIS PANDEMIC?

·       WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO REVERSE ITS CONSEQUENCES?

·       WHAT STEPS SHOULD BE TAKEN TO CONTROL SUCH PANDEMICS IN FUTURE?

·       ARE WE LEARNING ANYTHING FROM THIS DISASTER?

The subtle answer to these questions is humans are responsible for this Pandemic and this is the time to prioritize our needs, and stress upon the preservation of nature. Nature has re-bounced our deeds upon us.

From years there has been an argument between conservatism and governments about safeguarding nature. The protection of Wildlife and its resources is our responsibility, all the species are interlinked with each other directly or indirectly. We must make a choice whether we want to conserve our nature or continue destructing it with our selfish needs and baseless developments.

WET markets are still functioning in China, as it is an economically viable option for the Government of China to do so. But what about those innocent killing in the slaughter, illegally large numbers of live wild animals have been sold in such markets at higher rates and people are fond of such food in different parts of the world. So, this decision is in our hands How we must proceed with these issues in forthcoming days. We should start taking our environment and its components seriously, otherwise we have to suffer even worst than this in the future.
